The need I have to share this is so great, I bumped all my other ideas back to get this out here.
I’m talking about a serious game changer!
Like LIFECHANGING!!!
Every night as part of my bedtime routine, I make a list of what needs to be accomplished the next day.
Most important items near the top, and stretch goals for the day near the bottom.
Having everything written down takes a lot off the mind and I’m able to get better sleep. In the morning I’m able to get up and start moving on my list quickly because it’s all laid out of what needs to be accomplished.
Since I started doing this, my daily productivity is way, way up!
A couple of notes if you want to implement this:
1- breaks and down time are a must. Burn-out is real and it’s a lot easier to prevent it than to recover from it!
2- be okay with not getting the whole list done. Some days need flexibility and stretch goals are just that-> If they get accomplished that’s fantastic, but if they stay on the list for the next day or week, or however long it takes, that’s okay. So be okay with it.
Honestly, most days I do not accomplish everything on my list, and some days the list grows as the day goes on.
But I’m still getting so much done!
My days before were:
- spend the morning figuring out what needs to be done
- getting side tracked with stuff that pops up
- ending the day stressed because I didn’t really get anything done
- trying to work into the night to get something accomplished
- not sleeping well or getting enough of it
- waking up groggy and tired just to start the whole process over again
I hope this helps someone else, because it’s been life changing for me!!!
Heres to a happier healthier life,
-Jess
